Augusta Soul Chicken follows home cooks from the kitchens where their recipes began to a citywide competition—and the possibility of a new livelihood.

The people make the show

A family recipe can carry a teacher’s patience, a grandparent’s memory or a neighborhood’s pride. We want to meet the cook, hear who taught them, and see what sharing that food means in their everyday life.

A season with somewhere to go

1. The search: neighbors, churches and civic groups introduce the cooks.
2. The kitchen: home visits reveal their food, relationships and ambitions.
3. The heats: recipes meet a fair competition, with room for nerves, learning and surprises.
4. The crown: Augusta gathers for the final.
5. The next chapter: follow the champion as the work of building a business begins.

Augusta in the frame

The city is part of the story: its neighborhoods, traditions, gathering places and the people who keep them alive. Home filming and public food service are separate activities; any competition serving food will follow the requirements for its venue and event.

For production partners

We are developing a character-led pilot, a repeatable competition format and an independently produced pitch reel. Episode count, production schedule and distribution are still in development. No broadcaster, streaming platform or celebrity participation is confirmed.
